Application of Tan Thanh containers in high-tech agriculture

Application of Tan Thanh containers in high-tech agriculture

With the current increasingly scarce land fund, the use of arable land has become more difficult than ever. Therefore, the application of Tan Thanh containers in high-tech agriculture, in particular, growing vegetables in containers has become really necessary. This will be an extremely optimal solution for the agricultural industry in the future. Growing vegetables in a container saves a large amount of cultivation area, high mobility, and easy to move from one location to another. Moreover, when growing vegetables outdoors, growers need to pay attention to a lot of things from pests and diseases to temperature, weather, air...

Tan Thanh and solutions to grow vegetables in containers

The 20 feet container of clean vegetables is located at the Incubation Center of High Tech Agriculture Enterprise (Hamlet 1, Pham Van Coi Commune, Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City). This product is designed and constructed by a team of technicians, highly skilled engineers, with many years of experience in the profession and dedicated and thoughtful customer service.

Vegetable growing containers have dimensions of 6100 x 2550 x 2590 mm (DxRxC). Inside the container, LED hydroponic technology is applied. With the design of 4 hydroponic vegetable growing systems with dimensions of 2400 x 700 x 2200 mm (DxRxC) and 4 different types of LED lights.

Each planting platform consists of 4 floors, each floor is designed with a light system that is adjusted to the height to suit each growing stage of lettuce plants, in which yellow light and white light are arranged with 10 lights/floor; B/R light (30/70) and B/R light (40/60) are arranged 6 lights/floor. The length of each lamp is 1200 mm, 2 lights are connected to 1 to fit into the shelf system with a length of 2400 mm, 1 system of hydroponic growing troughs (including 4 troughs with a length of 2400 mm, each with 15 holes 150 mm in diameter for planting pots, the distance between the troughs on a truss is 100 mm ). On each floor, the distance between the lighting system to the bottom of the planting trough is 390 mm. There are also sensors for pH, conductivity (EC), temperature, humidity, light, and CO2 concentration installed in containers that are controlled via computer systems or connected to smartphones.

In particular, the High-Tech Agricultural Enterprise Incubation Center conducted an experiment in a vegetable growing container, with 4 different types of LED lights to see which LEDs were most effective. In the experiment, the LED lighting system in the vegetable growing container is equipped with 4 different types of LEDs including: B/R light (30/70) (picture 1), white light (picture 2), light bright yellow (picture 3), light B/R (40/60) (picture 4).

In the picture below is a lettuce plant 14 days after planting in 4 different light environments

According to the test, different LED lighting has an effect on the yield of lettuce. Although the height and number of leaves of lettuce plants grown in white and yellow light are higher than those of lettuce under purple LED, plants in white and yellow light have thinner leaves. Stems are much thinner than plants under purple light. Therefore, the yield obtained of lettuce under the purple light medium is higher than that of the two white and yellow light media.

Lettuce products are grown in containers in different light environments.

In our country, in recent years, the urbanization process has taken place rapidly, the pressure of population, food, employment, environment issues ... has promoted the development of containerized vegetables. This type can ensure to control all factors affecting plants such as light, temperature, humidity, air, pathogenic microorganisms, even dust while saving soil, water, Labor health both protects human health and the environment.

One more interesting news is that in November 2017, Kimbal Musk (billionaire Elon Musk's brother) and his colleague founded Square Roots, a city center farm in Brooklyn New York. This farm contains 10 containers to transport old goods, inside each container are vertical gardens that grow soil-free trees and grow under LED light.
